2005 Subaru Outback 2.5 XT Wagon

The 2005 Subaru Outback 2.5 XT is a new trim added to the rugged all-wheel drive wagon lineup and features a turbo version of the new 2.5-liter H4 that hits 250-hp and gets 250 lb-ft of torque.  The turbo engine is matched to either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic with Sport shift.  A restyling and a longer wheelbase are some of the 2005 changes, and side curtain airbags for both rows are now standard, along with the dual front-side airbags.  Limited slip rear and center differentials, 4-wheel ABS brakes, larger 17-inch alloy wheels, foglights, and mirrors with turn signals are some of the other safety features of the 2005 Outback 2.5 XT.

Moving beyond the 2.5i and similarly equipped to the 2.5i Limited, the XT features power front seats, heated seats and mirrors, cruise control, automatic climate control, a CD changer, intermittent front and rear wipers, a trip computer, leather trim, and a security system.  Leather seats are not offered on the 2005 Outback 2.5 XT.  The 33 cubic foot cargo area expands to 66 with the seats down, and a roof rack is also standard.  A small rear spoiler sits on top of the liftgate.  An auto-dimming rearview mirror is optional, and if you need to tow up to 2700 pounds, you a trailer hitch setup is available.  Owners like the turbo power and pickup, but hate the premium gas requirement, the 19/25 mpg, and the limited legroom.
