The SS is a new trim for the coupe this year.

The sporty SS upgrades to a more powerful version of the 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine which powers the LS, LT and LTZ. This more potent power plant makes 171 horsepower and 163 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The SS gains special body molding, a sport-tuned suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels and a rear spoiler. Both SS models also include a faux aluminum interior trim.

The SS coupe's suspension creates a more solid feel through turns, as this system minimizes a lot of the body roll reviewers have complained about on the LS, LT and LTZ.
