2001 Lincoln Town Car Executive L Summary

Lincoln did the chauffeured set a little favor in 2000 by adding an extended wheelbase edition to the Executive trim (as well as the Cartier). Since this lower-priced level was almost entirely destined for livery use, the extra legroom in the backseat was well utilized.

The other bonus of the L editions was auxiliary climate and audio controls for that back row, something else that the backseat V.I.P.s could appreciate. But whether or not these upgrades were worth the additional $4K on the MSRP could certainly be argued, although less so if the car was indeed serving as a limousine.

Standard features on the Executive L ran from the expected leather seats, air conditioning, and power accessories to the new items for the 2001 model year, traction control and power-adjustable pedals. Side-impact air bags also came on the list. Available options were a moonroof, a full-sized spare, mud guards, and daytime running lights. Buyers of this trim could not add heated front seats or the more powerful 235-horsepower engine.
