For a little more money, you can turn your front-wheel drive 1997 Audi A4 1.8T Sedan into a higher-performing quattro all-wheel drive, all-weather vehicle. The quattro system has earned a lot of praise for its confident footing in a wide array of road and weather situations.
The 1997 Audi A4 1.8T quattro features the traction control, ABS, and dual front airbags of the front-wheel drive sedan, and adds a locking differential. Other standard features are the same, along with the 1.8-liter, 4-cylinder, 150-hp turbo engine and 5-speed manual transmission. The ski bag, heated seats, and power sunroof options carry over from the regular sedan, but the 1.8T quattro adds a leather seat option to the mix. The Sports package, which adds special seats, springs, and suspension makes the 1.8T quattro even more fun on the road. The quattro gets high marks, and the many expensive repairs get low marks.
