1999 Audi A4 4 Dr 2.8 quattro AWD Sedan Summary
Adding all-wheel drive to the 1999 Audi A4 2.8 quattro sedan gives the luxury sedan more versatility and confident handling in a variety of weather and road situations. Other than the expert quattro technology, the 1999 A4 2.8 quattro is identical to the front-wheel drive sedan. It has the same 190-hp, 2.8 V6 engine and standard 5-speed manual transmission. Security ssytem, remote and lighted entry, power driver's seat and power heated mirrors, fog lights, cruise control, automatic climate control, leather trim, traction, and ABS brakes are all standard. In the 2.8 quattro, a tachometer is added to the instrument panel.
Drivers love the all-wheel drive capability, especially in the snow. Other high points include the large trunk, the well appointed cabin, confident handling, and the heated seats option. Issues arise with the limited rear legroom and a general dissatisfaction with the frequency of repairs. Repairs are costly and the Audi customer service is notoriously uncaring. Other drivers want more horsepower as well.
