The least powerful of Ford's cargo vans, the 2005 Ford Econoline Cargo E-150 still packs a 4.6-liter, 225-hp V8 with 286 lb-ft of torque, and can be equipped with an optional 5.6-liter V8 that gets 255-hp and 350 lb-ft of torque.  A 4-speed automatic is the only transmission.  Available only in the smaller 138-inch wheelbase version, the rear-wheel drive cargo van seats two in a vinyl bench seat, though a second row bench can be added.  16-inch wheels, 4-wheel ABS brakes, the sturdy F-Series truck platform, and dual front airbags take care of performance and safety issues, and a limited slip rear differential is on the options list.

Meant to haul cargo, the 2005 Econoline Cargo E-150 is bare-bones inside, with a radio, tilt steering wheel, power steering, intermittent wipers, a tachometer, and air conditioning.  It can tow up to 6600 pounds with an optional trailer hitch.  Power features, a CD player, cruise control, remote entry, rear climate control, and front captain's chairs are optional.  A hinged side door can be replaced by a manual sliding door.  Running boards can also be added.  Good hauling power is all most owners want, and they are generally satisfied with the 2005 Econoline E-150 Cargo Van, though the 15/19 fuel economy is nothing to applaud.
