Keeping cops and airport travelers comfortable, the 2005 Ford Crown Victoria STD is the base model for the full-size sedan, which seats six and holds up to 21 cubic feet of luggage (or the apprehended).  Though large and unwieldy in a mall parking lot, the rear-wheel drive sedan packs 239-hp in its 4.6-liter V8.  A 4-speed auto tran is standard, as are 16-inch wheels, front independent and rear live axle suspension, 4-wheel ABS brakes, automatic headlights, and dual front airbags.  Traction control is optional, and the solid 2005 Crown Victoria STD gets the highest crash test ratings.

Power windows, locks, and mirrors, a power driver's seat, and wheel-mounted cruise control are the major convenience features, though it also comes with intermittent wipers, a cassette player, tilt steering wheel, and a security system.  Rear seats split-fold.  Options include heated mirrors, a CD player, power-adjustable pedals, splash guards, and a cargo net.  Safe, solid, and great handling are what attract drivers to the 2005 Crown Vic STD, and even the 18/25 mpg is decent for a full-size boat.  Some are disappointed with the low 1500-pound towing capacity.
