Silverado's second tier LS (or LS1) trim is differentiated from the base level Work Truck by the addition of cruise control, a CD player and deluxe cloth upholstery. The LS is also equipped with dual-zone climate control.

This regular cab Silverado is powered by the modest 4.3 liter V6, which makes 195 horsepower and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. A four-speed automatic transmission is optional. The V6-equipped 2WD regular cabs will tow 6,500 pounds.

This 4x4 may also be equipped with an optional off-road package, adding a heavier-duty suspension and skid plates.
