[Edit] The 2006 Camry lineup received only minor trim-specific changes, after a mid-generation styling revision for the previous year. Ten variations of Toyota's best selling sedan were available this year, due to the availability of two engines, two transmissions, and four trims.
The SE models are the Camry's third trim tier with respect to pricing, but most of the additional features here are geared toward creating a sport appearance.
Like both lower trims, the SE gets power windows and locks, cruise control, and a a CD audio system. The LE's upgrades are also found here, including keyless entry and a power driver's seat. Unique SE features are a rear spoiler, 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, and sport-tuned suspension. This sporty model also gets a different interior trim finish and a special grille.
The 2.4 liter DOHC inline four is paired with a five speed manual transmission or a five speed automatic transmission. Toyota's Variable Valve Timing engine puts out 154 horsepower and 160 pound-feet of torque, and is good for 24/33 mpg with the manual. All models are front wheel drive. Although this SE version is given a sporting presentation, driving manners are consistent with the other four cylinder models. Acceleration can be described as mediocre, but the Camry is smooth, quiet, and easy to drive.
