Fiat Multipla

Launched in 2000, the Fiat Multipla is an eccentric little oddity, a compact SUV that looks like a box on wheels.  In the UK and Europe, it's been adopted by a post-hippie generation of Green types who love its fuel efficiency and configurable interior, not to mention its distinctive and wacky look.
The 2007 Multipla has been streamlined a bit, but it still stands out.  Drivers and reviewers praise its roomy interior, which can comfortably seat six adults or haul quite a bit of cargo.  A five-door model (four passenger doors and a liftback), the 2007 Fiat Multipla provides comfortable transportation for daytrips and urban driving.
This year's Multipla offerings show that Fiat has a good sense of its target market: some of the extras available include two bicycle-rack options (an interior 'bicycle system' or an integrated roof rack), Bluetooth capability, and a 'customized dashboard' option.
Under the hood, the 2007 Multipla has a 1.6 liter, 16-valve engine with a 103-horsepower output; this may not seem like much, but it's plenty to drive 1,300 kg curb weight at highway speed.  The 2007 Multipla also has a towing capacity of 1,200 kg.
