As soon as them AMG label is placed on a Mercedes-Benz, the car goes from being luxury status symbol to high-performance and highly-coveted driving machine. The SLK55 AMG is no exception.

Built on the SLK platform, the SLK55 has one notable advantage over its lesser brethren: while "standard" SLK cars have a V6 engine, the AMG engineers figured out how to load the SLK55 with a V8.

The car looks vicious, with a true dual exhaust system that "broadcasts a throaty tone." The car also fits the roadster profile with a retractable hardtop, which eliminates the need to engineer both coupe and convertible trims.
