Mitsubishi Endeavor History

The Mitsubishi Endeavor is a crossover built in Illinois introduced as a 2004 model. This was the first vehicle built as part of Project America, which is Mitsubishi's endeavor, if you will, to produce vehicles in North America for North America. The PS platform built under Project America is the base for the Endeavor as well as the Galant and the Eclipse.
Since the Endeavor has only been around for a few years, it hasn't gone through any significant changes. It's possible, too, that it will be discontinued in a couple of years rather than be redesigned, as sales have been disappointing. Frankly, this one simply doesn't stand out against other crossovers.
Slightly larger than Mitsubishi's compact Outlander, the Endeavor was essentially meant to replace the recently discontinued 7-passenger Montero, although the Endeavor carries just five passengers and the two coexisted for a few model years. The Endeavor does not compete with true SUVs, as it is not built for the trail; it is available in all-wheel drive rather than four-wheel drive and its lack of a two-speed transfer case means it should stay on pavement.
