CarGurus' 2007 Mercedes-Benz C280 Review

There are those who still refer to the C280 as the Baby Benz, but to Mercedes, it's no less than a Luxury Sedan, thank you very much, even though it's an entry-level vehicle with an affordable price (relatively speaking, when compared to some of its more powerful siblings). So just to make sure drivers remember that the C280 is indeed a luxury vehicle, Mercedes added a few new features to the vehicle's list of standard features for the 2007 model year, including 10-way power-adjustable front seats, seven-spoke alloy wheels, and a four-way adjustable tilt/telescopic steering column.
Other than than, not much is new on the C280 for 2007, probably because a redesign is planned for 2008. Still, the C230 comes nicely equipped with such features as power windows, electronic cruise control, air conditioning, power door locks, dual front and side airbags, temperature sensors that ensure a more comfortable cabin, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, and velour carpeting and floor mats.
Of course, there's a six-speaker stereo system with an in-dash CD player, as well as steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, entrance lamps at the front doors, and lots of other niceties you expect in a luxury car -- even a small one.
Power is provided by 3.0-liter, double-overhead-cam V6 engine that produces 228 horsepower. A seven-speed automatic transmission, anti-lock brakes, stability control, and traction control are also part of the package.
Generally, drivers liked the C280's ride, handling, performance, and interior styling, but some drivers, especially those over six feet tall, found the interior cramped (perhaps that Baby Benz moniker will stick around for awhile after all). As far as quality issues were concerned, most drivers were satisfied, though some noted that they had had mechanical problems with the car.
