The 2007 Audi A6 Avant is a wagon version of the mid-size luxury A6 sedan, and this is a family station wagon with sophisticated style and a sleekly subtly sloping back that gives the Avant a propulsive forward motion. It's so elegant and luxurious, you may want to leave the kids at home.
The 2007 A6 Avant features a 3.2-liter V6, direct fuel injection engine that reaches 255-hp. Like all Audi Avants, it comes standard with the snow-blazing quattro all-wheel drive. A 6-speed Tiptronic auto/manual transmission is also standard. Tripped out already with many bells and whistles, the Avant has increased leg and headroom inside, improving on the overall ride comfort. Standard features such as leather seats, power-adjustable front seats, dual climate control, sunroof and a trip computer make the driving experience easy and leisurely. The cargo area is conveniently laid out, with a cargo net, tie-downs, and a retractable floor that reveals an extra storage compartment. The tailgate opening height can be adjusted, and and optional automatic release is offered in 2007. An S-Line sports package can be added to the Avant, increasing the 17-inch tires to 18-inch performance tires, sports suspension.
As always, the look and beauty of the 2007 A6 Avant inside and out is a big attraction, almost as much as the expert handling and smooth driving experience characteristic of Audi. Drivers love all the interior features, especially the Bluetooth. Poor acceleration and so-so gas mileage (19/27 mpg) are unfortunate tradeoffs due to the weight of the Avant, and some owners are not fans of the MMI central control interface.
