The Audi A3 blew into the market in 2006 and soundly won the Best Sport Compact Car from Car and Driver Magazine.  This sports wagon puts more emphasis on sports than wagon, and delivers strong performance with great fuel economy.  Audi markets it as a unique blending of its TT with a utilitarian wagon, and its rounded roofline and low-to-the ground body seems to validate that claim.

There are few changes for the 2007 A3, aside from some new options packages.  A Technology Package offers auto-dimming mirrors, rain sensors, and Bluetooth capability.  The old Sports Package has been renamed S-Line and features the sports suspension, restyled front and rear, and S-Line badging.  

It looks like a wagon, but drives like a race car, with steering so light, you could use one finger.  Great traction and firm handling mean easy manueverability and confidence behind the wheel.  The low front seats and high center console are reminiscent of a sports car.  The 2007 Audi A3 AWD quattro comes with a 3.2-liter, 250 hp monster V6 and DSG auto tran, which predicts the next gear and slides smoothly between them.  A 6-speed manual is standard on the base sedan, with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged, 200-hp FSI engine.  This is the first time that a turbocharged engine has been combined with direct fuel injection, and the result is higher fuel economy.  

High marks go to the comfortable seat and interior, the DSG transmission, the AWD quattro performance in tough conditions, and the expert handling.  A lot of owners want a 2.0 quattro, and many want more interior options.
