CarGurus' 2007 Dodge Charger Review

The 2007 Dodge Charger, like its 2006 predecessor, is for drivers who must balance their dreams of driving in NASCAR with the realities of owning a safe and affordable family car.  The four-door sports sedan changes only slightly from 2006, with the addition of a new engine in its base SE model.  The SE base now comes standard with a 2.7-liter V6, 190-hp engine with 4-speed automatic transmission.  The SXT features the 3.5-liter V6, 250-hp engine and 5-speed AutoStick transmission. The 5-speed AutoStick is standard in all SXT and R/T trims.

R/T models feature the 5.7-liter V8 Hemi, at 340-horsepower, enough to satisfy drivers in search of power.  In 2007, the R/T Road and Track package, featuring higher-performance suspension and steering, adds 20-inch wheels.  The Daytona R/T, the sportier-looking version of the R/T with 350-hp, gets noisier exhaust tuning.  All models, SXT and above, have all-wheel drive, while rear wheel is still standard on the base model.

The 2007 Charger, for all its speed and power, still gets pretty good fuel economy, rated at 25/17 mpg.  It drives smoothly for all its power and weight, the brakes and traction control handle well.  There are some complaints about lack of interior storage space and headroom, and no manual transmission option.
