CarGurus' 2007 Dodge Nitro Review

The 2007 Dodge Nitro comes with a pair of engine options under the hood, a 3.7 liter V6 or a 4.0 liter V6 with 210hp and 255hp respectively.  To go along with these are three transmissions, a 5 speed automatic, a 5 speed manual, and a 4 speed automatic, depending, of course, on the trim you elect.  As a mid-sized SUV, gas mileage isn't great, 17/23, but it's certainly better than the massive beasts that dominated the SUV market a few years ago.   This is a car that has some of the benefits of both worlds, size and economy.
There are a fair number of comforts and conveniences in the 2007 Dodge Nitro.  Air conditioning, cruise control, leather seats, a CD player, a nav system, heated seats and a sun roof are all available.  And with 76 cubic feet of cargo space and plenty of passenger room, there shouldn't be much that a normal person can't carry.  Traction control, ABS and of course airbags keep passengers and drivers alike safe.  An all new line for Dodge, the 2007 Nitro looks on paper like it should be a successful vehicle for the American car maker.
And judging by the reviews of the owners of the 2007 Dodge Nitro, I'd say that most of them would agree.  People were happy with the mediocre gas mileage, and with the amount of space available.  Some common criticisms were the headrests and the difficulty taller people can have getting into the driverâÂ?Â?s seat, due to how high the seats sit.  Other than that, most of the comments were very positive.  The 2007 Dodge Nitro might actually be a good option for a step down from the Durango.
