CarGurus' 2005 Mercedes-Benz S600 Review

Newly turbo charged, the dominant feature of the Mercedes-Benz S600 remained its twin-turbocharged V12 engine in the 2005 model year. The engine produced 493 horsepower making the S600 the most powerful car in the S-Class, outside of AMG models.

Drivers sacrificed fuel economy for performance. The S600 has a coupe-like profile, complete with a laid-back grille and smooth underbody that improve airflow.

The car is remarkably safe, with side-impact airbags are installed in each door and side curtain-type airbags that deploy from the roofline to protect occupants' heads. The cars are also available with an Electronic Stability Program stability system and an available Pre-Safe system which can recognize an impending impact before it occurs so it can adjust the seats to the safest position and activate the seat belt pretensioners.
