2001 Mercedes-Benz E320 question?
Average response time: 5 hr.
The Mercedes-Benz E320 was a mid-size luxury vehicle available in both sedan and wagon models for 2001, as well as in models equipped with Mercedes' 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, which provided improved handling, stability, and traction in all types of driving conditions.
The E320 models were available with an optional Sport Package for 2001. The package included a sportier suspension, special wheels, and more aerodynamic lower body panels designed by AMG, the in-house high-performance tuner for Mercedes.
Power for all E320 models was provided by a 3.2-liter V6 engine that produced 221 horsepower. The engine was linked to a five-speed automatic transmission equipped with the Touch Shift feature, enabling the driver to upshift and downshift by nudging the shift lever left or right.
Standard features for the E320 sedans and wagons included leather seats with power adjustment in the front, a two-zone automatic climate control system, dual front and side airbags, power windows, power exterior mirrors, cruise control, and an AM/FM audio system with a cassette player. A CD player was available as an option. Other options included a parking alert system, the COMAND navigation system, and a sunroof with a new one-touch opening feature.
The E320 models were also equipped with anti-lock brakes, traction control, and Electronic Stability Programming (ESP) anti-skid system.
Drivers found a lot to like about the 2001 E320, not the least of which was the overall build quality that defined many of Mercedes' best luxury cars. Drivers also like the E320's smooth ride, responsive handling, styling, and comfort. Some drivers, however, reported having mechanical problems with the car on a more-frequent-than-normal basis.
