The brawniest member of BMW's 5 series family got some new headlights and a parking assistance device for 2005. Otherwise, not too much changed for the popular midsize luxury sedan. The 545i RWD comes has a 4.4 L, 325 hp V8 engine with standard 6 speed automatic transmission and optional 6 speed manual.
Gas mileage comes out to 17 mpg in the city and 25 on the highway. The 545i has 4 doors, seats 5, and offers the most extensive list of standard features in the 5 series, including sunroof, power windows, power door locks, power/leather seats, cd player, ABS brakes, traction control, and stability control. Navigation system comes as an option. As with the other members of the 5 series, you'll get 99.1 cubic feet of passenger space and 14 cubic feet of cargo space.
Overall, industry experts agree that you can't do much better than the BMW 545i for its smooth powertrain, transmission, resale value, and interior styling. Critics wouldn't mind it if BMW got rid of the confusing iDrive system, which allows the driver and the one riding shotgun to adjust climate, audio, navigation, and communication. Despite the somewhat complicated electronics, the BMW 545i gives you pretty much everything you could ask for from a luxury sedan.
