CarGurus' 1997 BMW 328 Review

A "spartan interior" and a "cramped passenger compartment" weren't enough to overshadow the many highlights of the 1997 BMW 328. Fans of the 328, which was available as both a convertible and as a sedan, gave the 328 high marks for its "great steering," "top-notch suspension" and stylish exterior.

1997 was just the second year of production for the 328 so there were few changes from the 1996 model year. The most notable change was the addition of traction control, which became standard in all BMW vehicles in 1997.

Drivers generally love BMW's five speed manual, but the gearbox seemed to get particularly high marks in this model. The biggest complain, and one that would plague the 328 throughout its existence, was the placement of its cup holders.
