The BMW 325 got a face lift in 2002, including headrests, cleaner-looking front bumpers and round, integrated fog lamps. The in-dash CD player also became standard, and the optional Steptronic transmission's manual mode was revised. The car was available as a four-door sedan, coupe, convertible and sports wagon, which BMW dubbed the 325i.
From a performance standpoint, the 325's inline-six-cylinder, 184 horsepower, 2.5 engine and its rear wheel drive made it a favorite among first time luxury sports car buyers. Normal for BMW but unusual for most other car makers is to make the 5-speed, manual transmission standard.
