2001 marked the first year BMW made all wheel drive available as an option in its entry-level, 325, a departure from the German company's famed rear-wheel drive. Like previous versions of the 325 - and as the car's name implies - the 325 came with a 2.5 liter, 184 horsepower engine.
Available in four models - sedan, coupe, convertible and sports wagon - the 325 had additional improvements in the 2001 model year. Larger brakes, 16-inch alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the new Dynamic Brake Control System were all new in 2001 for the 325.
