CarGurus' 1998 BMW 318 Review

1998 marked the final year of production for the BMW 318 before a complete overhaul of the German auto maker's popular 3-Series. As a result, there were few changes, although side impact airbags did become standard on the 318i sedan.

BMW also replaced the 318 coupe and convertible models with the more expensive BMW 323 in the 1998 model year. The remaining 318's all retained their 1.9 liter, four cylinder, 136 horsepower engines.

The 318 remained a popular choice, even on the aftermarket, for enthusiasts who wanted an affordable Beemer. "Of course, it's not the cream of the crop in BMW's suite of offerings...but for the price, you get a car that commands respect," said one owner.
