CarGurus' 1997 BMW 318 Review
Almost all changes to the 1997 BMW 318 were cosmetic, including the reshaping of the familiar, kidney shaped grille to match a similar, previous upgrade in 5-Series vehicles.
The only other cosmetic change was a redesign of the side mirrors and turn signals. Traction control, previously an option, became standard in the 1.9 liter, 138 horsepower, four cylinder BMW 318.
The car was built to be "fun," and user called it everything from "my little dream car" to "surprisingly quick." The biggest drawback, according to users, is that the car was somewhat cramped, particularly for larger passengers who have to sit in the back seat.
