Honda is so forthcoming as to say that the Odyssey minivan is so luxurious that you might want to move in to it. You know, get your mail delivered to it and everything. While we don't doubt that it's a nice place to be for a long road trip, we think it's best to keep the house, too.
The Odyssey is an official ULEV-2 (that's Ultra-Low Emission) vehicle, and a 3.5-liter, 244-horsepower V6 with 5-speed automatic transmission is standard on every trim. The EX-L and Touring Edition trims upgrade the engine to include Variable Cylinder Management technology, which shuts down half of the cylinders at cruising speeds or during light acceleration to cut down on fuel consumption.
This minivan is popular with families because of its 8-passenger capacity and its safety ratings. It contains a full array of air bags, even side-curtain units for all three rows. ABS and stability/traction control are standard on all trims.
Its seats are comfortable on long drives, and the two highest-priced trims come with leather upholstery; the two front seats are heated on those trims. Air conditioning is standard on all trims, and depending on the trim level there are up to three separate zones.
