Many people that bought their Honda CR-V new in 1997 are still driving them. Why replace something that is working - even after 150,000 miles? After nine years, prices are going to vary according to condition. Unless you are looking for a "fix-up" set of wheels, the going price is around $6,000 to $8,225.
The CR-V is unique to other SUV-type vehicles. Instead of using a truck-style frame, the CR-V uses unibody construction over a frame with four-wheel independent suspension. The Honda "Real-Time" 4WD package is installed along with the standard 2.0-liter, 126-hp engine. One of the few drawbacks is that the CR-V comes only with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Reports from owners indicate that this vehicle is reliable, with enough power to get through traffic. Consumers, who like the idea of an SUV that does not sacrifice economy, equally praise its size and comfort.
