2006 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

In its final year before fading into history as the Silverado 3500 Classic, the domestic pickup got a stronger engine, available 6 speed automatic transmission, and a re-shuffled set of trims.  The number of trims now goes up to an eye-popping 46.  So if you can't find one that fits your specifications, you're probably looking for a spaceship.  All trims come equipped with a 6.0 L, 300 hp V8 engine.

Standard cab trims have 2 doors and seat 3 while Extended and Crew cabs have 4 doors and seat 5-6.  Standard towing capacity generally hovers between 9000-10000 lbs., but max towing capacity goes from 15000-16000 lbs. if you properly equip your truck.  If you need an upgrade from the 6.0 L powertrain, you can choose a 6.6 L, 360 hp V8, an 8.1 L, 330 hp V8, and a 6.6 L, 360 hp V8.

Overall, the one-ton pickup gets props for its power, trim selection, and engine choices.  On the other hand, the drive and the materials could use refinement.  In the end, it doesn't matter anymore for the now defunct Chevy Silverado 3500.  The powerful pickup had a good run and would make a solid addition to the garage of anyone looking to add a little pop to the lineup.
