- Engines: 2.4L inline 4cyl/115hp, 3.0L V6/150hp - Transmissions: auto or 5spd manual - 4wd system: part time 4wd, ADD (Automatic disconnecting differential), hi/low range transfercase, open differentials - 5 passenger capacity - various trim levels available, PW, PDL, A/C etc. - power steering - power brakes (front discs, rear drums) with rear ABS - power rear window with tailgate - rear seats fold flat
Strengths: very reliable powertrain, both 4cyl and V6, good off road (ie: ground clearance, approach & departure angles), tough suspension, ADD works well
Weaknesses: 4cyl underpowered, V6 has poor fuel economy for 150hp, rear power window may stop working and is expensive to fix.
Before buying: check rear power window, check to see that V6 head gasket has been replaced under factory recall.
