[Edit] The 1996 Nissan 200SX only saw a few small changes for the model year, including side mirrors and door panels that matched the car. Otherwise, Nissan's sporty coupe stayed mostly the same.
The 1996 200SX came in three trim levels, which included the base model, the SE, and the SE-R. The base and SE came standard with a 1.6-liter 115-horsepower engine, and the SE-R had a 2.0-liter 140-horsepower engine. A five-speed manual transmission was standard, with an optional four-speed automatic. Fuel economy is about 28/37 for the base engine and 23/30 for the larger engine.
Drivers like the 1996 200SX because it looks sporty, handles well and is fun to drive, but is still an affordable car that gets good gas mileage. Some owners find the seats uncomfortable, and the cup holders are in an inconvenient location.
