[Edit] DaimlerChrysler AG has been generating excitement in its Jeep division the last couple of years, first in 2005 with the all-new generation of Grand Cherokee and in 2006 with the introduction of two new trims. The Overland combines luxury and off-road ability, while the SRT8 is a spectacle of speed and power.
While the Overland is a beautiful vehicle that makes a solid showing as a posh domestic SUV, the real buzz is about the SRT8, and with good reason. We are talking about a Hemi V8 that puts out 420 horsepower - that's 17 more stallions than the Cadillac Escalade. There has never been a more powerful Jeep product (and there won't need to be until John Q. American needs transportation to his weekend place on the moon).
Since this is only the sophomore year for this Grand Cherokee generation, the existing trims don't show any significant changes. Let's be honest, though, considering the obvious buzz this year: Something new about the Laredo and Limited? Who would have noticed?
