CarGurus' 2005 Hyundai Elantra Review

There is one engine under the hood of the 2005 Hyundai Elantra: a 138 hp, 2.0 liter inline 4-cylinder engine.  A standard 5 speed manual or the optional 4 speed automatic are the two transmission options.  Gas mileage is around 24 miles per gallon city miles and 34 highway miles.  Not even close to a race car, the 2005 Hyundai Elantra, however, would make an excellent vehicle for a commuter.

Air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and power locks a CD player, a trip computer, a leather steering cover and leather seats are all available on the 2005 Hyundai Elantra, either standard or optional.  A new trim was added to the 2005 model: the GLS 5 door, which has a sport suspension and 4 wheel disc brakes.  Passenger and side airbags are standard on all three trims.  Traction control was also added as an option on all trims in 2005

Is it any surprise that the owners of the 2005 Hyundai Elantra love just about everything about this car?  The gas mileage was the most commented on feature.  Many people also enjoyed how well it handled, though some people did complain about the bumpiness of the ride.  The interior is comfortable enough for two people, though more than one person did say that fully loaded, the 2005 Hyundai Elantra does loose a bit of its pep.  Of course, there are not a huge number of features on this inexpensive car, but it certainly has plenty of features for the buck.
