Preview of 2009 Audi TT

The 2009 Audi TT is a carryover, following a complete redesign for 2007. Available as a 2+2 coupe or a roadster, the TT can be configured with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive, with a choice of a turbocharged inline four-cylinder (I4) or a naturally aspirated V6.

Base trims are designated as 2.0T and come standard with the 200-hp, turbocharged I4, FWD, and a six-speed automatic. These are available in both body styles, coupe and roadster, and can be outfitted with the optional quattro AWD system. Audi’s Magnetic Ride Control suspension is also available, which allows drivers to adjust the suspension to optimize for comfort or performance.

3.2 trims come standard with quattro AWD and a six-speed manual transmission, although the six-speed automatic is still optional. Powered by a 250-hp, 3.2-liter V6, the 3.2 can jump to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds with the automatic and 5.5 with the manual. 3.2 trims are also available as either a coupe or roadster.

Standard safety features across all trims include antilock disc brakes, stability control, front chest-and-head-protecting side airbags and front knee airbags, as well as the new-for-2009 Hill Hold Control, which prevents the vehicle from rolling rearward when on an incline.

A Premium Plus package will add daytime running lights to the 2.0T, power front seats with lumbar adjustment, a trunk pass-through for the roadster, Bluetooth, an automatic day/night rearview mirror with compass, a universal garage door opener, rain-sensing wipers, a power convertible top as an upgrade from the manual in the roadster, and steering-linked adaptive bi-xenon headlights.

The Prestige package adds a rear-obstacle-detection and navigation system, a Bose AM/FM radio with a glovebox-mounted 6-CD changer, and LED interior lights.
