The 1999 Honda Odyssey is completely redesigned. After 4 years of customer requests, they finally installed a V-6, 3.5-liter engine with 210-hp. The four-side door design from earlier Odyssey models has been replaced with sliding doors. Most owners reviewed prefer the old design, complaining the sliding doors often stick. All 1999 Odyssey models come with an (EBD) Electronic Braking Distribution system that manages to calculate weight distribution inside the vehicle, and will adjust braking action during hard stops. This is definitely a great safety feature.
Owners really enjoy the looks of the Odyssey minivan with the sleek, attractive design. The fact that the 4-wheel independent suspension makes driving it smoother than any other minivan, also appeals to many user reviewers. Most drivers expect that by staying with the regular maintenance schedule, this minivan will run dependably for a very long time. It has excellent fuel efficiency, low emissions, and with the back seat folded down, tremendous cargo space.
With the exception of the sliding doors, and in some cases issues with the transmission, owner reviews are pretty high for the 1999 Honda Odyssey. This minivan comfortably seats seven people, each with a headrest and a functioning cup-holder. One person pointed out that the warranty for vehicles built in Canada would not necessarily be honored in the United States.
