Other than new 4 speed automatic transmission, the GMC Yukon SUV enters 2002 pretty much the same way it ended 2001.  The cousin of the Chevy Tahoe comes in 7 trims: Base, Base 4WD, SLE, SLE 4WD, SLT, SLT 4WD, and Denali 4WD.  If you like V8 powertrains, the Yukon has 2: a 4.8 L, 275 hp and 6.0 L, 320 hp.  

The Yukon has 4 doors and seats 6-9 depending on the trim.  Gas mileage comes out to an SUV-like 14 mpg in the city and 18 on the highway.  Towing capacity maxes out around 8000 lbs.  With the second row folded down and third row removed, you get 105 cubic feet of cargo space.

As usual with the Yukon, drivers like the engines and interior room.  However, interior quality could use an upgrade.  In any event, the 2002 GMC Yukon continues the SUV's strong run and paves the way for a bright future at home and abroad.
