[Edit] The 2002 Ford Taurus followed up on its previous years' success by integrating some luxury touches into the standard features of its SE, SES, and SEL trims. Goodies like antilock brakes and power-adjustable brake pedals were added to the S-Series; for those who were buying the Taurus strictly for economy's sake, the base-level no-frills LX trim was reintroduced.
Once again, the Taurus was Ford's best-selling car. Whether it was in the form of a sedan or a wagon, buyers couldn't get enough of this longtime favorite. And thanks to the 2000 redesign, the Ford Taurus drove and looked better than ever.
The LX entry-level trim was offered only as a sedan; SE and SEL trims were available as both sedans and station wagons; and the SES was a deluxe sedan.
