Other than some technical tweaking to front airbag deployment, the TL didn't change much for 2005. This luxury sedan has 4 doors, seats 5, and uses a 3.2 L, 270 hp V6 powertrain with either 5 speed automatic or 6 speed manual transmission. The TL comes in 4 trims: 5 speed AT, 6 speed MT, 5 speed AT with navigation system, and 6 speed MT with navigation system.
Expect to get a solid 20 mpg in the city and 29 on the highway. All 4 trims have standard sunroof, air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power/leather seats, cassette, cd player, ABS brakes, stability control, and traction control. As you might guess, the 5 speed automatic with navigation and 6 speed manual with navigation have a standard navigation system. Need to build up a head of steam fast? No problem; the TL goes from 0-60 mph in 6.7 seconds.
Overall, reviewers have a positive impression of the 2005 Acura TL. In particular, drivers like the luxurious interior, smooth handling, and long list of standard features. On the other hand, the TL has a ways to go before it matches its overseas counterparts. Regardless, the 2004 remodelling went over well and Acura has ascribed to the philosophy that if it ain't broke yet, don't fix it.
