About the Mercedes-Benz 500-Class
Mercedes-Benz upped the power quotient of its early-1990s model line with the 500-Class, which featured the automaker's 5.0-liter V8 engine. Starting with the 500SL, introduced in 1990, Mercedes soon added the 500E and 500SEL sedans to the line, and in 1993 introduced the next-generation 500SEC Coupe.
