About the Lexus RX 330
The Lexus RX 330 was the second generation of the unique crossover RX line. Originally referred to as a "hybrid," the RX was a luxury car-based sport utility. Lexus offered no apology for its lack of off-road capabilty, as it was intended from its inception to be more of a minivan replacement.
Like the 300, the 330 was available in both front and all wheel drive. The 330 grew 5.9 inches in overall length, and 4 inches in wheelbase.
The RX 330 had a more powerful engine: a 3.3 liter V-6 which made 230 hp, up 10 horses from the previous 3.0 liter V-6. The transmission was still only offered as an automatic, but it was upgraded from a four-speed to a five. Gas mileage improved slightly. The front wheel drive model was observed at 20/26 mpg.
