why does my alarm lights blink when door is opened & stops when door closes?

Alarm light usesd to work right  & everything else works ok

I suppose that depends on the configuration of the alarm. For Chevy I have is the same - door, hood or trunk is opened and the alarm light blinks, close everything and it stops blinking. For Firebird - it only blinks when armed. So if everything is working don't panic. :)
