How do you get a 96 oldsmobile cutless out of park when stuck?

Question type: Car Customization

I'm not sure if it will work for you but it did for me and cost nothing saving $1500+ estimate in repairs. My 2002 Dodge Durango did the same thing. Had it towed to a shop got this estimate claiming need to pull wheel and replace parts unnecessarily. Got on the Internet and read I could pull the gear selector, rubber boot back and spray WD40 on the small 'selector button' and push it up and down a few times. Went back to shop and paid the $65 checkout charge, pulled the boot and spayed WD40 on it and drove away never having another problem.
