What is the best affordable starter for a 96 Ford Escort Wagon?

Car is actin up I dont know if its just the cold (minus 12) at the moment.....The battery is strong (new) Its starts then wont very frustrating. Just curious is all igf there is a better starter then ford factory

at minus 12 any battery would be hard to crank an engine,but if you want to try a starter DONT get one from Advance Auto or Auto-Zone,they not worth a crap,get one from a indepentent parts store,they have the best parts.and are usually cheaper than the others.

Hitachi makes starters for zetec-engine fords and Volvo uses a lot of hitachi electric parts, it might be better.

this is not a ze tec engine.hitachi is for jap cars.
