automatic transmission won't engage

automatic tranny won't engage. It will go into neutral just nothing when other gears are selected. Is there any electrical or vaccuum imputs on these transmissions?

my guess...check your fluid levels. if you have no fluid it will not go anywhere due to internal failure.
