CAI, Gasket match exhaust flanges, grind/file burrs off the inside of the exhaust manifold... Make sure all bearings are greased and fluids are in good condition, heat wrap the exhaust in the engine bay to get under hood temps down, there are many little things that can be done that will add up..

In addition, you can boost compression with a thinner than stock head gasket.

And find someone to sell your pulstars to, they don't make power and wear out faster, and the more I've thought about how they work they have to at some point limit spark propagation. You'll find any dyno data is replacing old used plugs with new pulstars, new to new there isn't any measurable difference.

Agreed... They aren't always locally available here though so only my toys get 'em and the daily driver gets Bosch twin electrode platinums.

I would quit with the $100-$500 cheesy upgrades like header and throttle body on the k24de. Because in the end you will have dumped a ton of money in upgrades for 15-20hp AT BEST. Pulstar plugs are crap don't believe ever ad you read most B.S. your not going to get 50hp upgrade for $200. If you want to go fast for cheap get nitrous, or turbo the k24de they do great boosted and make good power. The best option and the one I would recommend is get a JDM SR20DET motor and swap it into the truck then it would be super fast, reliable, and one of a kind. There are some sr motor swap guides on the web if you look around.

nitrous kills engines.  you have continuous pwoer with the bolt ons.  and a good throttle body with chip, CAI, and exhaust will give plenty of power.  if thats not enough then sell the truck and buy the new ram.
