Why is that my a/c compressor keep turning on and my a/c is off everytime I use my fan without a/c and also my heater

IDK thats strange because i took the compressor off of my car and my fan and heater works just fine. the car im talking about is a 1991 Dodge Colt GL. It is also imported.

I don't know about the heater, but there are times when I hear the air compressor kick on when I just turn on the blower in my '01 Frontier. But this always happens when it's kinda cold (below 50 degrees F). If I hit the A/C button, the compressor picks up. So I'm not sure, but I wouldn't worry about it...especially if it's not hurting your gas mileage.

the a/c comes on if you have the heater in defrost mode to dehumidify the air coming from the vents.
