Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Once it has warmed is about 55mph I hear a high pitch noise that sounds like a bearing
spinning at hih speed. The rpm never changes and when I tap the brake it stops. Could
this be something in the hub trying to engage the 4wd?

Could be. Check the easiest things first. Make sure it is not a wheel bearing or a problem with the brakes.
