With the brake switch disconnected and flasher units removed all three brake lights stay on. I can get the normal lights to go off if I disconnect the directional switch

96 mercury mystique i just replaced front pads and rotars i tried to bleed the caliper now when i hit the breaks the pads stay out? Im not sure but they get hot smell burnt and even smoked once
