egr vavle bloing hot air out of it

I own a 2002 cougar I was driving to work today and it had no power. I was almost to
worked got it to my job. The egr vaule in the back is blowing hot air out of it. I don't know
what to do. I replaced the egr vaule because I thought it was stuck open with no change.
Please help

spray the area around it with carb cleaner and see if the idle changes..
