A blinking check engine light means that you have a bad misfire that will harm the catalytic convertors if you continue to drive as it is. That means get it fixed asap.

a blinking engine light can also mean you have a problem that will hinder performance, not just emissions, and as the guy before me answered you should definitly get it fixed asap.
