SOunds like your door actuator has failed. You will need to remove your inner door panel to access it to replace.

just take off the panel and reattach the linkage

Does it lock manually? Does it lock with a key from outside? The locking mechanism may be rusted and need to be freed up if you can't get it to lock by any means.
